Why conventional coaching collapses.
Most coaching still clings to the 1980s GROW model: Goal, Reality, Options, Will. It produces comfortable dialogue, but it collapses at the moment of execution.
An insight arrived at in a quiet meeting room rarely survives contact with operational reality. Hands are shaken, good intentions are voiced, and forty-eight hours later, the daily grind has erased the breakthrough.
You cannot think your way into a new way of acting; you must act your way into a new way of thinking.
I developed The Growth Loop Framework to eliminate this gap. It pairs intensive rehearsal behind closed doors with an active operational feedback loop in your daily arena.
Phase I: The growth session (the laboratory).
Before you deploy a new leadership stance into a decisive meeting or a complex interpersonal conflict, we prototype it in a controlled environment:
Goal & Stakes
We clarify the target trajectory and attach real stakes to it—defining both the measurable upside and the direct cost of inaction.
Reality & Roots
We separate cold facts from internal excuses. We map systemic bottlenecks, your circle of influence, and what is truly driving the counterparties around you.
Options & Levers
We identify high-leverage behavioural moves. Crucially, we look through the eyes of the other person to anticipate pushback and sharpen your communication levers.
Will
We lock in radical self-ownership. No vague corporate commitments; we agree on a single, non-negotiable priority.
Training (The Flight Simulator)
This is where conventional coaching stops, and where we do the gritty work. We treat the room as a flight simulator. We test the conversation, rehearse the phrasing, adjust physical posture, and dry-run the execution until intellectual doubt disappears.
Habit-Blueprint
We translate the breakthrough into an operational algorithm: a specific Trigger Cue (the context), an observable Micro-Routine (the exact behavioural shift), and a Reward Anchor (the neurological lock).
Phase II: The loop (the operational arena).
The true measure of our work never happens in the room with me. It happens when you step back onto the deck. Phase II is the live engine where practice meets ground truth:
Launch
You deploy a single, deliberate micro-shift into your daily arena. No unmanageable overhauls - just one precise, calibrated move.
Observe
You gather ground truth data. Without emotion or self-justification, you observe team reactions, counterparty dynamics, and points of resistance.
Outcome-Check
In our subsequent check-in, we review the telemetry. Did the needle move? Did energy friction decrease? What was the true outcome?
Perpetuate or Pivot
The operational decision gate:
- Perpetuate: If the micro-shift delivers the desired trajectory, it routes directly into your automated Habit Loop (Trigger → Routine → Reward) until conscious practice becomes second nature.
- Pivot: If real-world friction reveals an unseen barrier, we don't force it. We pivot immediately, routing the ground data straight back to Options & Levers (O) in Phase I to calibrate a sharper angle.
How we engage.
I work as an executive change agent and sparring partner, not an academic coach. Whether you are funding your own advancement or your organisation is investing in your trajectory, mandates are focused, confidential, and pragmatic.
Engagements are typically structured in focused sprints. We combine 1:1 sparring sessions, direct scenario preparation before high-friction meetings, and optional quantitative behavioural telemetry (utilising the Human Synergistics Circumplex diagnostics, LSI & LWS) to track observable progress.
